Walk Now For Autism
September 29th, 2008 Posted 10:21 AM

Drew’s Crew
On Saturday, October 11th, we will be walking in the “Walk Now for Autism” at Forest Park. Walk Now for Autism, the nation’s largest grassroots autism walk program, is Autism Speaks’ signature fundraising and awareness event.
We are walking with Drew’s Crew, a co-worker and close friend’s team, Joe and Karen Zimmermann. Their 6 year-old son, Drew, was diagnosed with Autism several years ago. Their dedication and love for Drew is inspiring. Kerry and I are raising money for Drew’s Crew. If you would like to make a donation and sponsor our walk, click on the link below…

Apple Pick’en and the Airshow

Ok, I’m exhausted. We started out the day by heading to Eckert’s Orchard for a little apple pick’en. We ended up picking about 5 pounds of apples (not including the “samples” that we snacked on during our harvest). Even Colin got in on the festivities. After hitting their petting farm, we drove over the Scott Air Force Base to take in the last day of the Airshow. I ate my share of carnie food and got to watch the Air Force’s Thunderbirds perform their maneuvers. Can’t complain about that. More pics after the jump…
The Long Lost Car Seat Toy
September 20th, 2008 Posted 7:44 PM

About a week ago, Erin, Colin, Kerry and I went to the local Target to pick up some essentials. After we left, we realized that the toy that had been attached to Colin’s car seat was missing. We decided that it wasn’t worth the hassle, searching the store for the lost toy. Yesterday, Kerry, Erin and Colin were at Target again, picking up some stuff and passed by a clearance end cap. Kerry just happen to look on the shelf and noticed that our long lost toy was sitting on the shelf with no packaging and a $2 price tag attached. Kerry explained to a manager that just happened to be walking by, that we had lost the toy the week prior. He quickly grabbed the toy, tore off the tag and gave it back to Kerry. Target tried to sell our toy! I’m thinking about asking them if they’d sell some of the other crap we have laying around the house for us. Would beat having a garage sale.
Des Peres Dash

Erin participated in the Des Peres Kid Run. She did this after her mother completed the 5K. Dad was unable to attend, but by the looks of the photos, she had a good time. Mom said she ran the whole race (half mile) and evidently has ridden herself of her fear of walking, life-sized stuffed animals. More pics after the jump…
